If I could buy any of the intangibles, I would certainly choose Time. For if acquired via transaction, Love nor Loyalty nor Faith nor Joy nor Friendship could exist as anything more than a cheapened façade, owned only as a bird in a cage. Time, however, is independent of all such variables and is essentially a measurable amount of being. While Time alone cannot offer you materialistic things, it can give you the sun and the moon and as many stars as you care to count. And while it certainly does not compare to any of the mentioned intangibles, it provides opportunity, and thus the potential to achieve all others.

Of all the gifts that anyone has ever given me for as long as I can remember, Time has been the one I’ve cherished the most. It is the most personal, purest, self-sacrificing, and sincerest gifts anyone could ever bestow upon you. Never take it for granted nor see it for anything less than what it is worth: it is the symbolic offering of entire parts of someone's life. We all— whether young, old, rich, or poor— are given a limited supply, making it the rarest resource upon Earth. Furthermore, it is not flattered by charm, taken aback by beauty, nor swayed by wealth. Therefore, I say spare me the diamonds and pearls...I'd much rather have a "bag of sand" any ol' day! Also, I would always prefer to be a penniless priority than a pacified inconvenience and will be forever grateful to those who have never made me feel like the latter.
