Bridges can be strong, supportive structures that safely transport you from one place to another. They-- while stretched and bearing the weight of your load-- can help to rise you high above the darkest valley, deepest pit, or swiftest current that lurks below; or, in some cases, they may merely help fill in the gaps as you continue along your path.

Either way, while people may act as bridges in your life-- and many willingly do-- it is important to never use them nor view them as such. We must remember that even the strongest person is not a structure and also needs support from time to time. If, however, you choose to use someone as a bridge, then you should keep in mind that there is no guarantee that they will be there should you decide that you want to go back to where you once were. For sometimes, there is no return and the gap a person can leave can never be refilled... and is perhaps far more significant than you had realized. Cherish the strong, while never failing to have regard for human frailty along the way.
